Furniture to Fit Your Home.

It is easy, in the excitement of buying new furniture, to forget to check whether your perfect new piece of furniture will actually fit in your home. Whilst we are more than happy to help you choose and deliver your new purchases, we can accept no responsibility if they don’t fit in your home! To avoid any embarrassment – as well as any additional costs – our simple guide can help you make a successful purchase.

  1. Measure the Entrance to Your Property

The first step is to measure the height and width of every door / access way – as well as making sure that there is plenty of entry clearance.

  2. Measure Your Chosen Furniture.

We are happy to help you measure furniture to check whether it will fit into your home.

For sofas, you need to measure:

    • the width.
    • the diagonal depth (determined by measuring from the leading front edge to the highest point of the back (not including the cushions) and then bisecting that line from the bottom, rear corner of the sofa).

For cabinets, you need to measure:

    • the diagonal height at the widest point.
    • the depth.

If the measurements of the furniture are less than the dimensions of the door and access ways, then all should be well for a smooth move.

However, other obstacles – such as low ceilings, banisters or sharp turns – may still make moving your new furniture in impossible. If you are you still unsure after using the instructions above, we offer a ‘check delivery’ (subject to a charge of £30, refundable against the cost of your purchase) where we use the display model to assess your choice.
